About Monica

A thoughtful, personal approach to therapy

I believe that therapy begins with understanding the person behind the difficulty. Each of us brings a unique life story, set of experiences, relationships, strengths and challenges to the therapeutic process.

As a Clinical Psychologist and Holistic & Integrative Psychotherapist, I aim to offer a warm, respectful and confidential space where you can explore what is happening in your life and what you may need at this stage of your journey.

My approach is collaborative and individualised. Rather than assuming that one method will suit everyone, I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives and work with you to find an approach that feels appropriate to your needs and goals.

Therapy can be a place to work through difficult experiences, understand recurring patterns, strengthen your resources or reconnect with yourself. It can also offer space to reflect when life is changing or when you sense that something needs to shift.

My intention is to support greater self-understanding, emotional wellbeing and meaningful change, at a pace that respects your circumstances.

My Approach

A holistic and integrative approach to therapy

I believe that every person is unique, and that there is no single therapeutic approach that will suit everyone.

My approach is therefore holistic and integrative. I draw on different psychological approaches and therapeutic techniques, depending on your individual needs, circumstances and goals.

Therapy is a collaborative journey between client and therapist. Together, we explore what may be contributing to your current difficulties, while also recognising the strengths, resources and resilience that you already possess.

Looking at the whole person

Our emotional wellbeing is influenced by many aspects of our lives — our thoughts and beliefs, emotions, relationships, physical wellbeing, past experiences, present circumstances and the meaning we make of our lives.

I therefore try to look beyond a particular symptom or problem and understand the person as a whole.

At times, you may need practical strategies to manage anxiety or stress. At other times, it may be important to explore deeper patterns, unresolved experiences or relationships that continue to affect your life.

There may also be times when you simply need a safe space to pause, reflect and make sense of what you are experiencing.

Drawing from different therapeutic approaches

Over many years of practice, I have developed an extensive range of therapeutic skills and approaches. These include psychotherapy, mindfulness, hypnotherapy and body–mind approaches, among others.

These are not used as separate “treatments” that you have to choose from. Rather, I integrate appropriate approaches into the therapeutic process according to what is most helpful for you.

My aim is always to work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, while helping you move towards greater understanding, emotional wellbeing and meaningful change.

You don’t have to have all the answers

You may arrive knowing exactly what you want help with. Or you may simply have a feeling that something needs to change.

Either is perfectly okay.

Therapy provides an opportunity to step out of the busyness of everyday life, listen more deeply to yourself and begin to explore what you need at this stage of your life.

You don’t have to navigate it all on your own.
